When Rusana joined us for personal training, she shared with us that she had trouble stopping her weight gain, that her relationship with food was terrible, and that she frequently indulged in foods due to high-stress levels related to her new business. She had also lost self-confidence due to her body image and was determined to change her lifestyle.

After assessing Rusana's needs, we understood that we could not take a stringent approach from day one but needed to ease her into the transformation process and make small changes over time.

We explained the importance of resistance-based training and explained how, in training, the most crucial thing is progressing the intensity over time, ensuring that the body becomes more robust and that the muscles get the right stimulus.

Initially, we focused on more mindful eating and did not adopt a strict nutrition plan. As we went further on the journey and noticed that Rusana gained the knowledge, skills, and passion for actively engaging in her fitness and health journey, we started discussing diet in more detail, where we aimed for a specific calorie intake and a sufficient protein intake.

From day one, Rusana was committed to her training. It took some time for her eating habits to change, but once they did, her results started to show week after week.

Stage 1 of the fitness journey was focused on weight loss! We aimed to optimize fat loss while maximizing muscle retention.

Rusana's training program consisted of 3 weekly resistance workouts, and at a later stage, she also added one weekly boxing session with our coach, Milos P.

What inspired you to start your transformation journey?

I have been unhappy for a while with my physique and have been contemplating on starting weight training and fixing my diet, but it was not until I could not fit a piece of clothing in Zara despite opting for the largest size that I reached my breaking point! I sat in the car, cried my eyes out, and then decided to start working on my health and wellness!

What was your favorite part of the journey?

I liked many things, like the fact that it gave me more self-confidence, made my days more productive, and helped me manage stress better!

Have you ever considered giving up, and what kept you moving forward?

This happened a couple of times. Once, it was simply due to the high cost of training. Once, I almost gave up when my scale weight was stuck for weeks! Still, thanks to the support of coach Milos, who was always there to provide sound advice and never too aggressive in his approach, I overcame all difficulties and remained committed to my fitness journey.

What was your favorite and least favorite exercise at the gym?

I don't think I had anything that I disliked, but I definitely had a love hate relationship with a machine called the booty builder! :) Also I wound the cardio workouts quite intense but they really helped promote weight loss which was my main objective!

What advice would you give to other women looking for body transformation programs but perhaps having doubts?

First, do not be afraid to reach out and discuss your objectives with a fitness professional. Conduct a few assessments and gather vital information on what must be done to reach your goal!
