Leonie T.

Yoga Instructor in Dubai | Yoga for Beginners

I have always had a passion for yoga! I guess it started in my high school years when I was in dancing school, and one big part of our training programs was focused on flexibility exercises. To improve my flexibility and core strength, I often went to the nearest yoga studio in New York and dreamt about having my own yoga practice one day! However, I never pursued my dream until my husband, a personal trainer who devoted his life to helping people transform their lives, finally gave me the push I needed to pursue my lifelong dream! I have been working as a yogi in Dubai for the past two years, helping people learn yoga postures, gain flexibility, achieve deep relaxation and have the same profound yoga experience I had when I first started practicing this craft!

Allaoua G.

Male Yoga Instructor for Home Practice

As someone who has had a successful career in corporate finance but also had the chance to experience the high-stress environment that such positions bring, I understand extremely well how important it is to care for your well-being. By doing extensive courses in various types of yoga and studying anatomy in depth, I have managed to create signature programs. These programs can help busy individuals cope with the everyday stressors of high demanding jobs, improve their well-being, and still thrive physically, mentally, and professionally! Through my programs, I incorporate a lot of breath work as it is the most important of all human functions. If we stop breathing, we die. If we breathe better, we live better!

What are the benefits of practicing yoga?

Physical Benefits:

Increased flexibility

Improved strength and stamina

Better breathing

Improved balance and coordination

It can help relieve arthritis, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, and more.

Emotional Benefits:

Reduces stress and anxiety

Promotes feelings of relaxation and peace

We offer the following types of yoga:

Hatha Yoga

Hatha means willful or forceful. Hatha yoga is the most popular type of yoga in the western world, and it is what most people think when they hear the word "yoga."

Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa yoga represents a smooth transition between the various yoga poses. The word "vinyasa" can be translated as "arranging something in a special way," meaning each pose is linked to the breath.

Yin Yoga

Yin yoga targets the deep tissue in our body by holding poses for a longer time. This yoga helps relieve tension and pain in the connective tissues, muscles, and joints.

Restorative Yoga

A slower-paced style of yoga that uses props such as blankets and bolsters to support the body. This yoga style is excellent for older people and people with injuries because it is a very gentle practice.

Modern Yoga

Modern yoga offers a wide range of practices. It represents a mix of different styles and can be tailored to individual needs.

Prenatal Yoga

A slower-paced style of yoga that is designed for pregnant women. The movements are light and slow, focusing on breathing techniques, relaxation, body posture, and reduction in back pain.

Postnatal Yoga

A slower-paced style of yoga that is designed for women who have recently given birth. The movements are light and slow, focusing on strengthening the core muscles.

Weight loss/Sculpt Yoga

Weight loss yoga is a mix of vinyasa, power yoga, and ashtanga, which represent more physical types of yoga exercises. During the classes, you will burn calories and tone your muscles. The benefits are stress relief and the ability to lose weight. However, we strongly suggest you combine weight loss yoga with our nutrition services to maximize your results!

Dance Fusion Flow

It is similar to Vinyasa Flow but more of a dancing aspect to get you moving your chi along with your tail feather. Set to fun music to inspire you to shake "what your mother gave you!"

Active Stretch and Mobility

More than a regular yoga stretch class, the Active Stretch class is the ultimate refreshing yoga experience focusing on reaching the deeper part of muscles, facia, ligaments, tendons, and all the complex connective tissues composing the biomechanical structure of the human body. Through an alignment approach and proper use of props, blocks, belts, and blankets, the class is designed to progressively open up the body’s tight parts such as arm-strings, gluts, back, shoulders, and hips flexors, cuffs, you name it.

Common questions and answers

What is yoga therapy?

Yoga therapy is an alternative medicine that uses postures, breathing exercises, and meditation to improve mental and physical health. It has been used for centuries to treat various conditions such as anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and more.

What does a yoga teacher do?

A yoga teacher is a guide who helps students connect with their inner selves and find their path to health and wellness. A yoga teacher does more than teach poses. They help students learn about the benefits of yoga, how to practice safely, and how to incorporate yoga into their lives.

What is the difference between yoga and pilates?

Pilates is a form of exercise that focuses on strengthening the core muscles, while yoga is a system of training that includes postures, breathing exercises, and meditation. Both can be beneficial for your health, but they are different practices.

How often should I practice yoga?

Yoga is a lifelong practice that can be done daily. However, how often you practice will depend on your goals and what works for you. If you are starting, it is recommended that you practice at least two to three times a week. As you become more experienced, you may find that daily practicing benefits your health and well-being.

How long is a yoga session?

Our yoga sessions last 45 minutes; however, our group classes might be between 45-90 minutes, depending on your chosen yoga class.

What tools are required for my yoga sessions?

The only thing you need is a bottle of water and yoga mats! Our instructors will provide you with all the other props you might need, like a yoga block or elastic bands in some specific cases.

Do you offer yoga teacher training?

We do not offer yoga courses for yoga teachers. For that, you should inquire with the yoga alliance. The yoga alliance standards are curated for yoga teacher training.

What is yoga philosophy?

Yoga philosophy is the foundation of practice. It is based on the teachings of Patanjali, an ancient Indian sage. Yoga philosophy teaches that the mind and body are interconnected and that our thoughts and actions impact physical and mental health.
